For the majority of my life, I lived with my mom.

We had a nice house and a small car and a cat named Peter. It was pretty simple and nice. Until my mom slipped two disks in her lower back.

She began to use and abuse oxi pain relievers. We became homeless. Soon, we even ran out of couches to jump from. Lived in hotels for a few years.

When the state took me, they made my father take me in. He never really liked children and neither did his wife at the time.

I was blaming myself for everything and was cutting myself as result. But as soon as my mom found out, she instantly got herself together.

Now she’s a caregiver for people with physical and mental patients. I’m so proud of my mom.
