I always took care of everyone else, no matter if you were a stranger I would do as much as I can.

But I always forgot about the most important thing with helping… My own health. I would let everyone tell me all of their troubles and give them advice on the situation when I never had an outlet of my own and anyone to talk to about my struggles because no one was there to listen.

I would cry for days at a time or just lock myself in my room and definitely not go outside since I didn’t want to get out of bed. It came to be too much when it started affecting my place of work and my attitude towards people.

Finally, I said enough was enough and I went to my doctor and I was diagnosed with depression. Yes, of course when my doctor told me the news it dampened my mood a whole lot. But finally, I was provided with resources so I can have that long needed outlet and it’s been great for me ever since.

I have been maintaining my depression for 2 years now and it’s been the best 2 years of my life. Keep in mind that your health is what keeps you going so please take care of it.
