A side of depression that no one ever speaks about is the toll it takes on your body. Personally, I have been dealing with depression since elementary school, so basically, as long as I can remember. I began to gain weight like crazy, and would soon drop it and be lower than ever. My lowest was 87lb, and my highest was 140lb, all within the same year. Weight changes make the depression even harder. It is not easy to deal with it.

Depression isn’t just feeling sad now and then, it’s so much more than that, and the weight change is a small part of that. This took a tremendous toll on my body, and I went weeks without getting out of bed, bathing, eating, and sleeping. No one mentions these things, and it’s important we learn that depression goes so much deeper than what we are taught!

These are all symptoms that can raise a red flag and be a first step towards getting help.
